As a former Navy wife and the granddaughter of a Marine, Veteran’s Day is near and dear to my heart. Like all Americans, the gratitude and sincere appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our troops is nearly indescribable. My husband  served on the USS Vella Gulf for two years, and before that he was a member of the Navy’s Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C. I’m so proud to be able to say that my husband served our country, and I’m so glad that he made it home safely.

Every single member of our armed forces (ALL of you – Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines), National Guard, Coast Guard, and every reservist and veteran, has done an immeasurable service to the nation. If you’re home, we’re glad you made it back. If you’re away, we’re waiting for you and you are in our thoughts every single day. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and honor you today.
