Do you have a weight loss goal in 2014? Did you know that it’s actually easier to lose weight than you think? Try to remember that the secret to weight loss isn’t with some miracle food or workout where you wake up at your goal weight. Its adding small changes to your lifestyle over time that eventually turn into large lifestyle healthy habits! In my experience, trying to do too much too fast is often the culprit of a major burnout, and is the reason why many people tend to give up.

Before you put too much on your plate, so to speak, take a look at these three weight loss secrets that will help you on your way to a healthier body, mind and lifestyle. Always remember, you are in control of your success!

1.) Eat More Often – Okay, I know what you’re thinking! This seems counter-intuitive, but eating more keeps your metabolism running high and fast. When you wait a long time between meals, your blood sugar can actually drop very low causing you to feel very hungry. I’ve learned that “grazing” throughout my day keeps me from overeating at one sitting. I try to remember that food is not for entertainment or because i’m bored. Food is simply for energy and nutrition. Studies show that eating 4-5 meals per day is highly effective at helping people drop pounds.

2.) Break things up with your workout routines – Cardio workouts burn fat! Did you know that walking is one of the best ways to lose weight? This is especially true for people who aren’t as athletic or for those with old injuries like myself. Its a proven fact that simply adding 30 minutes of walking per day is enough to seriously encourage some shedding of those extra pounds! I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to workout all at once. Breaking up my routine has drastically changed the way I view working out. Breaking up your workout routine into 20 minute power sessions is just as effective as working out for 45 minutes straight. In fact, it might even be more effective because you’re giving it all you’ve got within that 20 minute power session since you know you have a limited amount of time to make it count!

3.) Take A Nap – I like to party! And by party I mean take naps! Getting enough sleep is crucial to your overall weight loss goals and health! And no, you aren’t being lazy! If you aren’t the type to sleep well at night and often feel tired, try taking a cat nap if you get a chance. I know its not always convenient in this world where everyone is rushing to stop and take a quick nap, but you will be surprised how amazing and refreshed you will feel after you wake up! Napping is beneficial to your brain function so you’ll feel more alert and have more energy for your workouts!


Be a “yes” person in 2014! Say yes to all of your goals and don’t let self doubt get the best of you! Just simply saying “yes” to the things you said “no” to in 2013 while making a full commitment to your goals will make a huge difference in your overall success!

  1. I agree with eating more often. Most people are dissing the principle it doesn’t make any sense for them but scientifically it really works, it’s just like vaccines, you have to take a shot of the ailment for you to be stronger, right?
