October 15th 2014 was nothing short of magical, as our Camden Cares Atlanta team pulled together to make things happen for the Piedmont Park Conservancy. Our Camden Atlanta teams spent a beautiful autumn day at the 53 acre Atlanta staple, in an effort to help with quite the project.
Teams implemented our Camden values to work smart, to be a team player, and results oriented, as they spread over 500 pounds of gravel along the Piedmont Park walking track to even the track for runners and walkers. Throughout the day those passing by, would thank our team for volunteering.
This project really brought out the innovation in some of our team members as the Camden Shuffle was developed to help tamp the gravel. Team Camden Atlanta squeezed in tight, counted down, and shimmied their way into tamped gravel perfection. Go team!
I had the honorable opportunity to interview several associates throughout the day, to gauge how giving back makes them feel. One interviewee, Angel Almario gave her heartfelt account of the day, in Spanish. Let’s just say I needed a Kleenex after a few of those responses.
After all the wheel barreling, raking, and Camden shuffling the team enjoyed a nice lunch in the park and quality time with Atlanta’s newest leader, Regional Manager Roman Stephens. It was great day for team Atlanta and an even greater day for the park that is maintained with only a five person landscaping staff. The residents of our Camden Vantage and Camden Midtown locations could enjoy a short walk to Piedmont Park.
Great job Camden Cares Atlanta!
