Everyone knows the importance of staying hydrated throughout the day. However for some people (ME!) water tastes extremely boring. Growing up I hated water, and I still do, because to me there’s no fun twist to it like juice or soda.
But then, while working at Camden College Park we started infusing our water with fruits and I loved it! It’s delicious and pretty and just the right amount of flavor that I forget I’m drinking water.
The great thing about fruit infused water is, you can pre-cut the fruit and freeze it in individual sandwich bags. When you are ready to use it just take it out and put it in your water. It’ll work to cool the water and add flavor! You can even find specialty cups just for infused water so that seeds don’t get in your drink.
Some of my favorite combinations are…
- Orange and Lemon
- Lemon and Mint
- Cranberry, Mint and Lemon
My advice: If you’re using this combination for a party heat the cranberries for 15 seconds in the microwave before putting them in the water. This will release the juices in the water and turn it pink!
- Lemon and Mixed Berries
- Strawberry, Lemon and Basil (My Favorite!)
- Orange and Blueberry
- Cucumber, Lime and Mint
So drink up, water is good for you and now it can be full of flavor! I challenge you to join me on the 30-Day Water Challenge, your body will thank you for it!
