I cannot think of anything more American than watching an amazing fireworks display with a crowd on the 4th of July. Every time I hear the sound of a BOOM from fireworks, I instantly turn into a little girl again, utterly thrilled to see the sky light up! Lucky for me, one of the best fireworks shows in the country is right here in DFW. Now entering its 13th year, Addison Kaboom Town has been delighting nearly half a million people per year with their amazing 30 minute light show. It’s not just Dallas folks who think Kaboom Town is THE show to see, publications all of the country routinely name this show as one of the best in America. AOL has ranked it #3 in the US, Forbes and ABC News both list it in the Top 10, The Travel Channel puts it in the Top 5 and it has been named to the top spot by the American Pyrotechnics Association. WOW!! How lucky we are to have such a respected event right in our backyards and located so close to the Dallas Camden communities!

This year’s event will be held on Friday, July 3 from 4-midnight at Addison Circle Park, located at 4970 Addison Circle. It is free to enter, but, for the first time, this year they will be limiting the number of people who can enter the outdoor venue. Be sure to get there early to grab a spot! There is free parking located in the garages located by Arapaho at the Dallas North Tollway and Addison Circle at the Dallas North Tollway. You are not permitted to bring in alcoholic drinks, but there will be concession areas selling beer, wine, beverages and food. There is plenty to do before the show starts at 9:30pm. Starting at 5 there will be live entertainment on the main stage; there is a carnival and face painting for the kiddos; and a fan favorite, the Addison Airport Air Show with a historic War Bird flyover starting at 7:15. If you don’t wish to battle the traffic and crowds entering Addison Circle Park, there are many restaurants holding watch parties throughout the town. You can see an amazing view from most locations around town.

I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July Celebration!
