Top 11 Houston Events in November

November in Houston is filled with cool weather (finally!), festivals galore, holiday traveling, prepping for Turkey Day and of course the famous Nutcracker Market. Before your calendar gets all booked up, here’s a list of the top 11 events happening in Houston.

  1. Opera in the Heights presents the Medium and The Telephone
    11/1-11/7, 7:30 p.m.
    1703 Heights Blvd
    Tickets $13-63
    In The Medium, Madame Flora holds a seance and invites her guests’ dear departed children to speak to them, and they do! But, it’s all a sham. Add too much alcohol to this situation and in true operatic fashion, someone has to die before the curtain falls.

  2. Texas Children’s Cancer Center Casino Night
    11/5, 7 p.m.
    The Bell Tower on 34th St
    Tickets $500 and up
    Head over to The Bell Tower for their seventh annual Casino Night benefiting Texas Children’s Cancer Center to enjoy blackjack, roulette, poker and so much more and all for a good cause!

  3. Houston Galveston Institute presents The 11th Annual Chocolate, Champagne & Charity
    11/6, 6:30 p.m.
    HGI Counseling Center, 2990 Richmond Ave
    Tickets $150 and up
    Enjoy a champagne and wine reception with hors d’oeuvres and a seated dinner honoring Dr. Elizabeth McIngvale-Cegelski and will be introduced by her father Jim “Mattress Mac” McIngvale.

  4. The Tasting Room Houston Cellar Classic
    11/7, 1-5 p.m.
    TTR-Uptown Park
    General Admission $75, VIP $200
    Benefiting Dress for Success Houston
    On Saturday, the 9,000 sq foot, European-style digs of TTR will host their 12th annual Houston Cellar Classic Grand Tasting. Enjoy 100 different wines that will be poured alongside culinary creations from local restaurants.

  5. First Saturday Arts Market 2015
    11/7-12/5, 11 a.m.
    In the Heights, 548 W. 19th St.
    Admission is free.
    First Saturday Arts Market is a monthly outdoor fine arts event that features the works of dozens of visuals artists and showcases paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry and handcrafted items.

  6. Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market
    Thursday, 11/12 – Sunday, 11/15
    Thursday, Friday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
    Saturday, Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    N.R.G Stadium
    Come experience a holiday shopping wonderland.   7. Houston Press’ Tacolandia
    Saturday, 11/14 4-7 p.m.
    The Water Works – Buffalo Bayou Park
    Tickets start at $30-50 and can be purchased here.
    Originally set for Saturday, Oct 24 as we previously mentioned in our Top 11 Events in October, this event is now rescheduled to Saturday 11/14. Tacolandia is an outdoor taco-sampling  event and festival that will feature Houston’s best tacos, complete with live music, cash bar with beer and cocktails.

  8. Under The Boardwalk Benefiting Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital
    11/14, 7 p.m.
    Royal Sonesta Houston
    Tickets $500
    All benefiting Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing, games and a Rolex Raffle.

  9. The Phantom of the Opera
    Wednesday, 11/18 – Sunday, 11/29
    The Hobby Center
    Tickets $50-150
    Andrew Lloyd Weber’s phenomenal musical success, The Phantom of the Opera, will come to Houston as part of the brand new North American Tour. Hailed by critics as “bigger and better than ever before,” this production boasts many exciting effects including the shows legendary chandelier, new scenic and lighting designs and so much more.

  10. Fresh Arts Presents Winter Holiday Arts Market
    Friday, 11/20 – Sunday, 11/21, various times
    2101 Winter St.
    Tickets are $10 for the Friday Preview Party and Admission is Free on Saturday and Sunday
    Enjoy this three-day juried art sale and city wide celebration of Houston artists. including paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and more.

  11. Glisten Holiday Lighting
    Saturday, 11/21, 7-9 p.m.
    City Centre

    Share in the fun of City Centre’s annual snowflake lighting in the plaza. Enjoy a DJ, ice carving demonstrations, lighting ceremony and so much more.

Getting to these events from your Inner Loop Camden apartments is also incredibly easy. Just hop on the METRORail, grab an Uber, or drive yourself – either way you’ll definitely get there before your friends in the ‘burbs!
